1 – What does ‘being a mom’ mean to you?
Motherhood means that someone is more than just a caregiver to someone else, it’s when you love your child and show them all they can be in life. It’s about creating future citizens of the world, so it’s a difficult and complex task.
2 – Do you think motherhood is outdated or should be reinvented?
I’m not sure I understand this question completely, as motherhood should never be considered outdated, without moms there is no life. If anything, we need motherhood to be more encompassing of working moms, and be more supportive of women who are mothers.
3 – Does your mom inspire you to have a family of your own some day?
My mother definitely inspires me, but not in the manner of beginning a family of my own. I think she has inspired me to focus on my career, and children can always come later. I saw how many things you actually can’t do because you have children, and my mother had 5 kids and I could see how it impedes a woman from building her own dreams. It’s certainly harder to do many things with children, but not impossible. So she certainly inspires me to do better for myself and the world around me.
4 – What price would you put on your mom’s love?
I don’t think there could ever be a price on love. Love is limitless and priceless, there really aren’t enough words to even describe the incredible love all mothers have for their families.
