Millennial Phaiede voices her opinion on motherhood

Young business woman discusses motherhood

There are just so much words that could describe the roles that mothers play when it comes to their children. Should I focus on how a mother’s love is like no other? Should I write on they way they care and provide for their little ones? Do I mention the way they ensure that their child is healthy and safe? While all those are great and are parts of what it means to be a mother I’ve come to the conclusion that motherhood is about SACRIFICE“, says Phaiede.

Phaiede, a first-generation millennial woman (1991-2001), event and wedding planner at PL Event Designs, talks about the meaning of motherhood and the role of mothers.

1 – What does ‘being a mom’ mean to you?

To me words are not enough to describe what it means to be a mother. Where could I possibly start? There are just so much words that could describe the roles that mothers play when it comes to their children. Should I focus on how a mother’s love is like no other? Should I write on they way they care and provide for their little ones? Do I mention the way they ensure that their child is healthy and safe? While all those are great and are parts of what it means to be a mother I’ve come to the conclusion that motherhood is about SACRIFICE.

2 – Does your mom inspire you to have a family of your own some day?

The sacrifice that I’ve seen mothers made so that their children could have a better life is INCOMPARABLE. My mother is one of those women. I come from a single parent home and while growing up and I’ve watched my mother put her goals and career aside after we immigrated to Canada so that we can have the life she imagined for us.

I say after because life was great back home. My mother had her career and worked full-time. School was paid on time. My sisters and I didn’t have much to complain about because life was good for us.

3 – What price would you put on your mom’s love?

I am not a mother yet but I give my hats off to all the mothers out there that are making sacrifices everyday for their children. As a result Mothers deserves our utmost GRATITUDE, TRUST and RESPECT.
